Unleashed Beasts News

Seven-time Mr. Olympia Phil Heath certainly knows what its like to maintain a presence in the bodybuilding scene, and he also know what it’s like to battle body dysmorphia, recently discussing how own battle with it for the last few decades.

Since he stepped away from the stage in 2020, Heath has been one of the sport’s most visible ambassadors.

“I have body dysmorphia” Heath said in an official post on his Instagram page.

“That’s right, I have it, I’ve had it for a very long time, well over 20 years. But most importantly over the last two years, how I deal with it… I get up in the morning and go to the bathroom, and I say, ‘Phil, I love you, I love you for everything that life has thrown at you, and you stood tall and decided you wanted to do better and although that you may have failed sometimes, you won a lot of those battles, a lot of those wars. And that you’re worthy and that you’re strong.’

I want you guys to all know that you’re strong and you are extremely worthy. But you have to start with loving yourself. You cannot love others the way that you want to if you can’t show love to yourself and show grace to yourself. We pick ourselves apart so much to where we become paralyzed and don’t move forward. love yourself, know you’re worthy, and go after it each and every day. You’re not alone,”
